Dubokaj

Dubokaj aka Daniel Jakob is a producer, self taught multi-instrumentalist, and Dub scientist. He started working professionally as a musician back in the mid-nineties. Over the years he had been involved in everything from Hip Hop, Italo Pop, Dubby Electronica, all the way through to movie scoring. His co-productions for his Pop Electronica outfit Filewile were played on major radio stations in Germany, Switzerland and France, where the band achieved what could be called cult status. The high demand for Filewile allowed Daniel to tour Mexico, South Africa and a great chunk of Continental Europe. He also got to put his hands on remixes for world renowned artists such as Nicolette, Dawn Penn, Bonaparte, Pressure Drop Soundsystem etc. The artist compares his production technique to modern painting and says that outside of the love for creating and taming chaos what is crucial to good writing is the time spent away from the studio, either with his kids or getting dirty with urban gardening.
