Inside the Baxter Building

Inside the Baxter Building is a Bernese band for real-time electronic music, consisting of the two musicians Simon Petermann and Samuel Würgler and the sound artist Fabian Gutscher. Founded in 2013, the band will release their first album Seldom Somber in 2016.

The term electronic real time music refers to the sounds used and the way the music is performed. The music is played live with acoustic instruments and MIDI controllers, and the sounds are manipulated in real time by analog and digital effects. The result is a largely electronic sound. An essential part of the music is improvised, which also finds expression in the term “real-time music”.

The member of Inside the Baxter Building are convinced that the combination of acoustic and electronic sounds is the sound of the 21st century. It is our declared goal to explore this music and to discover and develop the associated playing techniques.

The album will be released in collaboration with the young Bernese Label Morpheus Records. Release date is in the beginning of 2016.
